can you convert the file to *.flv? As far as I remarked, that makes the File smaller...
What Resolution does it have? Maybe you don't need a such high resolution.
Can you describe that noise, and tell us, in what circumstances it apears? Just in Idle, Only when the car is moving, only when you're braking, or is it only when driving around corners, or can you tell the Direction... just to have a bit more than just a "noise" from the engine to guess what it could be.
Normally, one starts worrying only in case an engine makes no noise at all. *g*
