I have had an addition to the garage this week, with the arrival of a 1981 Daihatsu Charade XTE (G10).
Found him advertised in the wrecking section of our local classified's, thankfully I was the first one to enquire about the car and the seller held the vehicle till I could view it over the weekend. I'm sure glad he had, as it turned out to be in better condition than I expected ..... way to good to send to the crusher.
Owned by an elderly couple, unfortunately due to medical conditions was no longer able to drive the vehicle. I'll let the pic's tell the story :)
Paintwork faded, but have already done a test polish and it has come up looking good. Car was rustproofed when purchased new so body has very little rust.
Small dent to rear door, plan to have that knocked out soon
No cracks or fading of tail-lights
Dashboard crack free, and everything still works including digital clock
Back seat still in good condition, unfortunately rear parcel shelf has gone
Ripped out the old seatcovers, and this is what I found. Front seats are showroom new. Plan to give the interior a big sud up next weekend
Now I know why B1500boy has 50 cars .... this is becoming addictive
And the Charade is still licensed till next year.
