Hello Rainer,

The two stage vacuum advance has two chambers. A main and sub chamber. The first has to be connected to the upstream side of the carb, the sub chamber to the downstream side of the carb. If you happen to have crossed these timing will be off. Specialy it timing has been reset, do it again. The confusing part is that the sub chamber is the connection closest to the distributor body, the main one the farthest away at the "small" end. For setting the timing disconnect the sub chamber. (closest to the body) as that affects the timing even at idling being connected downstream of the throtle valve(s)
