Hi everyone!
I just happened to gather some information about the next Sirion (called Stória in Japan)!!! It is closer than you might think... It's Japanese debut should be around June or July (rumoured to be 7 June) and it will come with it's Toyota twin brother, the Toyota Passo (the current Sirion also had a Toyota brother, the Duet).
A Japanese site,
www.auto-g.jp also has some spy shots from the car, but sadly only for it's members

... I could still get a little teaser picture! The first impression is not too good, it's really boxy, bit boring and kinda bland, no sign of it's predecessors sporty, yet funky looks. But since the front is blocked with that text, I should not judge yet.
There is one certain thing though, it's definitely bigger than it is now, the bad news is that it's still going to have a "supporting role", since the Yaris (Vitz in Japan) will remain in the Toyota line-up.
I don't have any technical datas yet, but it's likely to have the current 1 litre and 1.3 litre engines, possibly with 60 and 90 HP.
The time of arrival for the European version is uncertain though, because this year's autumn motor show is in Paris, where Daihatsu hadn't have any new car presentations so far (well, at least until now...). Despite this, I tend to say that it will arrive in 2004.
Well, that's it for now, I'll try to attach that little pic, if I can (first time I try attachment  ...).
Bye, Val
P.S.: The next Terios is also very close, it should be presented until February 2005.
