There are two types of CB Engines inside the Hijet: CB41 (Carburator) and CB42 (EFI).

Both are modified to fit to the Hijet mounting angle.

What details do you really need ? I am sure I can help you.

Cheers,

Daniel

RWD and 4WD is the same connection to the engine. You have to use the gearbox of the Hijet to adapt the CB80 Engine.

Only the 1.3 litre Engine and the Diesel versions do have a different gearbox connector. As long as you have a 1 Litre Hijet, you can adapt and CB80.

I am currently rebuilding an Charade (CB23) Engine to fit into a Hijet. I can send you a list of changes which I already done to fit the engine.

Cheers,

Daniel

Hi Crash,

Since 1993, The Piaggio Porter and the Daihatsu Hijet are build in Italy. Both are the same cars with just different manufactor stickers.

The Van and the Pickup engines are just slightly different. (e.g. the oil-filter is moved a little bit), so nothing to worry about.

The Gearbox of the Hijet is centered in the middle of the chassis, but the engine itselv is not verticaly, but kind of 45 degree build in. I can do some photos of it.

Cheers,

Daniel
