Fuel consumption in L701

Today i fill my car cuore L701 automatic with fuel from empty(under the red line) to full takes only takes 30liter.
In 350km burns 30.5liter gas. 8.7liter/100km
165/70R13 wheels
10w-40 oil engine
Its ok ?

The L701 automatic consumes much more fuel than the handshifted version. Seems OK, if you drive e. g. in the city and short distances and not economically.

10W-40 is the wrong motor oil, better change to 5W-40 or 0W-40.

5W30 is also possible, if it is a "standard oil" (there are some 5W-30, which are made for modern motors with lowered viscosity).

I will change the oil to full synthetic 5-30.
Why the tank takes only 30liter?

Bauer_Sucht_Sau 28.05.2020 10:53

Are you sure? My MOVE has a 32 liter capacity. My engine is also smaller. So, it only figures that your vehicle should hold 35 liters. The only way to find out how large your tank is would be to run it completely empty. Then pour in an exact amount from two forty liter cannisters. Then, subtract the amount remaining in the second canister from the total of both.
Doesen't your owner's manual list capacities?

Why the tank takes only 30liter?

Why should it take more in such a small car? It is the same fuel tank as with the manual transmission. That one takes about 5.5l/100km and so you can make 600km and more with a single fillup. The Automatic is basically the same car. It would cost more to have two different fuel tanks, and space is limited too.

30l is even pretty much. Nominally it's a 28l-tank size.

The L7 has a fuelcapacity of 40l.

When you fill up 30l it has been 10l left before.

All Daihatsu show early an empty tank even though there are several liters left.
It's not a bug, it's a feature.

You can put a replacement canister in the car an run the tank empty.
Remember the kilometers from reserve to car stops

bluedog 30.05.2020 13:43

Reserve is big. That gives more safety, but has also a technical reason:

The electric fuel pump is located inside the tank, and is cooled by the surrounding fuel. So, having always some fuel left in the tank protects the fuel pump, and due to the big reserve, that is given even if the driver doesn't think about the needed components to keep the car driving.
Of course you can drive the tank empty. Reserve should be somewhere near 100km even in an automatic version of a Daihatsu.
I stopped doing so, after I learned, what a new fuel pump costed... Its cheaper to fill up a bit erarlier in the long run, and it is good to know that in an emergency there is plenty of reserve fuel before you run it dry in the middle of nowhere. From then on, I took it as a built-in reserve canister. The car is small enough, even without spare fuel in the quite small thrunk.
