Two quick questions about YRV drain plugs / oil change
 

Hi all,

Since a month or so I drive a Daihatsu YRV with a K3-VE engine (it's a model heavily based on the Daihatsu Sirion). It's very rare and no dedicated forums for it and parts are a hell to find, but anyway, I love the car and I intend to keep it as long as I can.

I have two initial questions:

- I'm almost sure about the dimesions of the engine oil drain plug - M12x1,25 - but I want to also find the sizes of the gearbox oil plug (manual transmission) so I can order some magnetic plugs before the first oil change comes (soon). My question is do YRVs use the same drain plugs for both the manual transmission and the engine oil?

- I do my own oil changes and own some platforms you can drive your car onto and raise its front around 20 cm off the ground (I'm paranoid about jacks). Are both drain plugs positioned so, that all oil goes out when you have a slightly raised front?

Die Oelablassschraube ist M12x1,25 , richtig. Das Getriebe hat andere Gewinde. Kann mich gut täuschen, ist lange her. War es nicht 3/4 Gasgewinde ?? Soviel ich mitbekommen hatte, haben die neueren Getriebe schon Magnete im Gehäuse integriert, um allfällige Späne aufzunehmen.

Das Getriebeöl lässt sich schon bei vorne angehobenem Wagen vollständig entleeren, ABER: Die Einfüllschraube ist HINTEN auf Höhe der Antriebswelle angeordnet. Daher bekommt man nicht die volle Menge hinein, da es schon zu früh aus der Einfüllöffnung wieder herausläuft. Aber es sollte möglich sein, das Getriebe von oben durch den Motorraum zu befüllen (Trichter mit Schlauch), nachdem das Auto wieder auf seinen Rädern steht. So hab ich das kürzlich bei Meinem Materia auch gemacht.
